Meet Ken

Expert Wildlife Guide, Naturalist, Educator

Welcome to my world and Yellowstone Now!

I have been a professional wildlife guide in Yellowstone and the surrounding ecosystem for over 30 years. I created the first wildlife touring company in Yellowstone and Montana in 1990.

Using my educational background in wildlife biology I offered a variety of services to connect people to the natural world. With the help of many people, I designed an array of year-round outdoor services to experience wildlife in secure and respectful formats. In 2020 that business was sold.

Today, I still guide and teach in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, but I focus on river safaris, llama treks, and select wildlife experiences and opportunities both inside of and outside of Yellowstone.

In addition to guiding groups in vehicles, boats, and on land, forums include film and video, television, radio, written text, and public presentations.

Yellowstone Now specializes in river trips (one of my personal favorites and very unique), wildlife observation, educational opportunities and programs, presentations (including stories of wildlife and cultural history), social media wildlife and nature video productions, and information to help people experience our shared natural heritage.

My academic background includes bachelors and graduate studies focused on Wildlife Biology and Natural Resource Management and my profession and technical environmental career has included a variety of natural resource management agencies, non-profit conservation organizations, private industry and wilderness outfitters.

My personal goal is to promote respect for all life and to serve our shared human and natural communities and to see that guests have the most rewarding experience possible.

Let’s connect!

Expert Guide

“We can’t thank you enough for every moment of the two days that you spent with us. From the picnic lunch to the morning with the wolves to the horseback ride in Montana, it was all spectacular…. You mentioned that you wonder…what significance these experiences have for people. I believe that people’s souls or spirits need nourishment just as their bodies do, and your services do provide that nourishment….I can now look back on the days we spent in the park as among the best. This vacation tops all the others. I will never forget any of it. Thank you!!!”
